Delphi Fishery - Salmon Fishing - Flyfishing Ireland

AN UNLIKELY HAT-TRICK · 12 May 2008

In hot weather, with thunder in the air and hardly a puff of wind, Ciaran Boland took a remarkable hat-trick of salmon on the same day from Finlough. Fishing a heavily-tinselled Collie Dog on an intermediate line, Dubliner Boland bagged a 10-pounder, a 6-pounder and a fresh run grilse of 4 1/2 pounds. Proof, if it were needed, that you can never say never with salmon. John Cooper from the UK also caught and released a 10-pound fish on Finlough. The tally for the season now stands at 66 salmon.
