Delphi Fishery - Salmon Fishing - Flyfishing Ireland

Five for Werner · 29 March 2008

Werner Zirngibl continued his run of success at Delphi by bagging five springers during his March week. All sea-liced and all from the river, the fish weighed between 7 and 10 pounds. Two were wild and three were tagged fish released from the hatchery as smolts in April 2006. The productive pools were Rock, Morrisons, New Island and Whin (2). Four of the fish were taken on a Collie Dog, the fifth on a Tosh in very high water. Werner’s son Fabi also took a 7-pounder from the Whin Pool. Despite these successes, the general view is that there are less springers around than usual.
