At last, some fish. After a very difficult first half to March, with no water in the river and bright cold conditions, some rain has arrived and with it some fish. Both Heinz and Heidi Hoefler have bagged fresh spring salmon in recent days – Heidi from the New Island Pool and Heinz from Finlough. Both fish were just over 8 pounds.
Fishing pressure has been exceptionally light for the time of year. But, that said, the past week has seen consistent effort in reasonable conditions, so the results are somewhat disappointing.
